Through The Years

History of Valley Hope Christian School

Our origins of providing education for students with learning disabilities go back to 1979.

A Godly place of Hope

The inspiration for Valley Hope Christian School goes back to 1979 when John and Robyn Odell were looking for a school for their son who required additional learning support. They couldn’t find the right solution so they started one of their own with a group of other families.

This School featured appropriate teaching materials and a caring and supportive Christian community based on Biblical values. It also had mainstream students learning alongside those with a disability, the same as we have here at Townsend. From it stemmed a group of “Hope Schools” and Valley Hope was established to serve the Clarence River region.
