Valley Hope Christian School is a caring and supportive NESA Registered Years 1-12 school for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or moderate level of Intellectual Disability.
We will nurture and empower your child to flourish in this welcoming environment, both academically and socially. We also invite you to become a valued member of this community.
Staff at Valley Hope are committed church attending Christians. They are trained to work with children with Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder and are updated on best practice methodologies. They are pastoral in how they teach, guide and encourage our students. Each day they attend devotions and students have their own Pastoral Care classes.
We teach with a Biblical worldview. Our Christian beliefs and values are infused into all learning to give students an understanding of who they are in Christ whilst they are being educated. We deliver a combination of curriculum teaching with extra-curricular activities and character development for a holistic outcome.
We believe that your child, like each one of our students, is created in the image of God with their own strengths and talents. We are here to help your child become the best they can be. Our students know that, because of our Christian culture and our desire to honour Christ in all of our programs and activities, they are valued and loved. They can be themselves and pursue their unique pathways through life.
Valley Hope is based on a model which was pioneered in Sydney in 1979. That first classroom featured a unique combination of Bible-based teaching, Christian values and integrated learning. Despite the students having a variety of intellectual and social abilities and challenges they were able to thrive in this environment. The success of that original School led to Valley Hope being established to serve the Greater Clarence region.
